Kinsey College of Education Holds Joint Matriculation/Convocation Service for Students

Kinsey College of Education, Ilorin, Ibadan Study Centre has held a combined convocation and matriculation ceremony for the graduating students of the year 2019, 2020 and 2021 graduating students while also matriculating fresh students into the college.

The colourful ceremony was held at the Ibadan Grammar school hall, Molete, Ibadan in the presence of many dignitaries including the Special Adviser to the Oyo State Governor on Culture and Tourism, Hon. Akeem Ademola Ige, former Chairman of Transport Pool of the Oyo State government, Alhaji Muili Kolawole Olaoye, National Missioner Al-FathulQuareeb Movement of Nigeria, Alhaji Fadilu Rahmon, Comrade Adeyemi Adeyemo, Alhaji Nasirudeen Fasina, Alhaji Chief Tajudeen Akinade Abondejo, Chief Mukaila Azeez, Chairman/CEO TAM Oil and Gas, Alhaji Tajudeen Ayobami, and Principal of Ibadan Grammar School, Mr Oladejo Johnson.

While addressing the students, the Provost of the College, Dr. M.O. Aremu congratulating all the graduating students on the completion of their course of studies and welcoming the fresh ones into the college.

According to him, “I take this opportunity to welcome all the graduating students and their well wishers to this gathering and congratulate them for the successful completion of their studies. God will reward you. The convocation today as tradition in Kinsey College of education marks the end of study of those who have received instructions from different scholars of the institutions and passed the prescribed test at different levels of their programmes and found worthy in learning and character to be offered a Nigeria Certificate in Education.

I charged you to be focused and beseech you to live an exemplary life worthy of emulation. The attainment of an NCE certificate is not the end of life but the beginning of life of service to your family and humanity. The various skills you have acquired during the course of your studies must now be maximized by putting them into practice.  Say no to robbery, illicit act, cultism, internet fraud, bribery and prostitution but commit yourself to a selfless service, integrity, charity, honesty and fairness in all you do. The various skills that you have acquired is to enable you to fulfill God’s purpose in your life and to be a blessing to your family, your friend and the country at large. On this note I take this opportunity to welcome you into the fold of Kinsey College of Education alumni association.” He enthused.

The Provost hinted that the focus of Kinsey College of Education is to produce the highly qualified and skilled graduates that will be self-reliant, employment of labour and will imbibe the culture of a high quality assurance of their programme as an NCE awarding institution.

He further disclosed that students who graduated from the College have always been lucky to work in various reputable institutions and organizations including EFCC, the Nigerian Police Force, Nigerian Army, Kwara State Teaching Service Commission, while more than 40 universities in Nigeria are already training their graduands into a programme through direct entry and post graduate programmes.

The Special guest of the occasion, Hon. Ademola Akeem Igeurged the graduating students and fresh students to be good ambassadors of their families and Nigeria at large in everything they do as all eyes will now be on them.

The Chairman of the occasion, Alhaji MKO Olaoye said it was sad to note that the educational value have been greatly eroded and in the process the country has been relegated from a lofty height as evident in the abysmal performance of students in public examination. Some of the factors he deduced to have contributed to these societal ills are attitude of students, decaying infrastructure, funding and quality of teaching among others.

Earlier in his welcome address, the Coordinator of the Ibadan Study Centre, Comrade Ibrahim Babatunde Yusuff explained that the Ibadan study centre of the Kinsey College of Education was established to make the education accessible and affordable to some admission seeking students who are being denied the opportunities by other tertiary institutions of learning.

He saluted the courage of both graduating and matriculating students for their resolve to choose Kinsey College of Education, Ibadan study centre as a channel through which they acquire more knowledge and pursue their academic career.

He equally appreciated the governing council of Kinsey College of Education, Ilorin, members of staff of the centre, family members of the graduating students and others that graced the occasion.

Highlight of the occasion was the presentation of certificates to graduating students.
