The kidnapped intending couple who were to officially wed this weekend in Ekiti State have been released after spending five days in their abductors’ den.

Rulers’ World reported that the would-be couple were said to have been kidnapped along Ilasa- Ayebode road in Ekiti East council area last Sunday.

The lovers, according to sources were returning from Ado-Ekiti, the state capital where they had gone to purchase some commodities in preparation for their wedding scheduled for this weekend when they were accosted by gunmen.

They were said to have been taken to an unknown destination before the kidnappers contacted the family and demanded N5 million ransom on Sunday night.

It was gathered that the victims were released at a bush in Ayetoro-Ekiti, in the Ido-Osi local government area of the state after payment of about N3 million ransom.

The wedding ceremony slated for the weekend, according to close sources, had been shifted.
