The former Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academics) of the University of Ibadan, Professor Adigun Agbaje, has been released by kidnappers.
Agbaje was kidnapped along the Lagos/Ibadan Expressway while returning from Olabisi Onabanjo University (OOU), Ago-Iwoye, Ogun State, Friday evening close to the Sat Guru Maharaji Garden.
Prof Agbaje was also the former Dean of the Faculty of the Social Sciences and Head of the Department of Political Science both at the University of Ibadan.
It has not been establish whether the ransom of ₦50 million demanded by his abductors was paid to secure his release or not, although a crowdfunding initiative was made public by the Head of Department, Political Science, Prof. Remi Aiyede
