Insurance Vs Rangers: Winner To Get N2.5m From Afrinvest

Ahead of the Bendel Insurance Football Club of Benin and Rangers International of Enugu match, Afrinvest West Africa promised an N2.5 million prize to the winning team.

The match, scheduled for Saturday, January 6, 2024, at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Edo State, is part of Match Day 17 of the Nigeria Premier Football League. Kickoff is at 4 pm and millions of football fans across Nigeria and beyond will watch the match.

Speaking about the need to support the youth, Afrinvest West Africa Group Managing Director, Ike Chioke, reiterated the company’s commitment to helping young people achieve their goals.

Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki, founder of Afrinvest, the official jersey sponsor of Rangers, is rallying support for the Bendel Insurance club. Sports analysts have praised Obaseki’s commitment to developing sports and empowering youth.

According to Chioke, the winning team will receive N2.5 million from Afrinvest, while the losing team will get N500,000. In the event of a draw, each team will receive N1 million. The prizes will be paid into the Optimus by Afrinvest personal accounts of the players and club officials.

Launched in October 2022, Optimus by Afrinvest is a financial technology solution that harmonises banking, wealth management and brokerage services into one platform.

“We have built a personalised digital wealth management platform to provide innovative financial services to help you reach new heights financially,” Chioke said.

Chioke asserted that the firm can help young people, like those at Rangers International, become professionals and achieve international success. “They, too, will help uplift other young people and show the value of professionalism.”

In 2023, the Afrinvest Equity Fund was the top-performing listed equity mutual fund, returning over 60%. “All our funds are professionally managed to deliver strong returns,” the company stated.

Obaseki urged sports lovers to support Insurance at the tournament. Free buses will be provided by the Edo City Transport Service from various pickup points to boost attendance.

Chief of Staff, Osaigbovo Iyoha, encouraged the Insurance players to defeat the Rangers. “The Governor is behind you and has approved a package for you,” he said. “We are confident you will make the state proud.”
