Inflation rate declines slightly to 15.60%

Nigeria’s inflation rate falls to 17.38% in July

Inflation rate for January 2022 decelerated to 15.60 percent, year-on-year, indicating 0.87 percent points lower than the 16.47 percent rate recorded in January 2021.

The Statistician-General of the Federation and Chief Executive Officer of the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) who disclosed this Tuesday in Abuja, added that the urban Inflation rate increased by 16.17 percent year-on-year in January 2022 from 17.03 percent recorded in January 2021.

He stated that the composite food index rose by 17.13 percent in January 2022 compared to 20.57 percent in January 2021.
