Independence Day: Oyo Rep. Member, Olafisoye Tasks Nigerians on Unity, Prayers for the Country

 

A member of the Federal House of Representatives representing Akinyele/Lagelu Federal Constituency, Oyo has urged his constituents and Nigerians to remain united as the country marks her 64th Independence Day anniversary on October 1st, 2024.

Lafi, as fondly called also enjoined Nigerians to pray for the country and her leaders for the entrenchment of good governance and the well being of the people.

Olafisoye who is the Chairman House Committee on Nigeria/Mexico Parliamentary Friendship at the Green Chambers in a congratulatory message marking Nigeria’s 64th Independence he made available to journalists in Ibadan, said Nigeria has come a long way as one indivisible entity which every citizen must work to protect.

He stressed that at a time like this, prayers and unity of purpose will help ensure the country remains one, and tasked Nigerians to continue working hard to realise the mission and vision of the country’s founding fathers, who fought for the country to become what it is today.

He said: The celebration of our independence anniversary offers us the opportunity to take stock of how far we have co-existed as a nation and how far we must go to achieve what we want achieve as a nation.

Let us all continue to commit ourselves to the unity, growth and development of our beloved nation as well as to our collective improvement. In unity, we must see each other as a one’s own brothers and sisters regardless of our ethnic, religious, and regional diversifications.

Therefore, on this occasion of Nigeria’s 64th Independence Day Celebration, I felicitate every Nigerian especially my constituents at Akinyele.Lagelu federal constituency. I wish each and everyone a memorable celebration of both peace, unity and progress.”  Hon. Lafi said.
