Ikeja Electric plunges Olambe Community into 4 Weeks “Uninterrupted Blackout”

AEDC staff electrocuted in Kogi,

For residents of parts of Olambe in Ifo Local Government Areas of Ogun State, the last four weeks have been harrowing no thanks to officials of Ikeja Electric who having taken away electricity transformer has neither return nor replace same, plunging thousands into “uninterrupted blackout”.

Inhabitants of Oremeta and Okanlawon have had to travel long distances to get water for domestic use as the area is not covered by public water supply.

A resident told Uncensored that since the faulty transformer was removed weeks ago, nothing has been heard from officials of Ikeja Electric. “They won’t simply say anything. Their act as though they are doing us a favour by supplying electricity which we duly pay for. If you go to their office, they will treat you with disdain. How can you plunge thousands of people into darkness and you still could sleep at night in your own house, possibly with the power supply?

Another resident confided in Uncensored that the action of officials of Ikeja Electric is in spite of the huge amount contributed and given to them to facilitate a speedy repair of the faulty equipment.

When Uncensored approached Olambe office of the electricity distribution company, a lady official said to be the Marketing Manager refused to speak on the issue.
