Ibrahim Magu, Ex-EFCC Boss, Now Live From Hand To Mouth

Ibrahim Magu now live

Ibrahim Magu, you remember him? He’s the immediate past (acting) chairman of the dreaded Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). He was unceremoniously removed from office courtesy of a presidential order, made to face a panel following allegations of corrupt enrichment, insubordination, et al.

Mr. Ibrahim has since been replaced by a staff member of the Commission, Mr. Abdulrasheed Bawa.

The news now however is that the serving police officer – he has not been retired from the Force – now survives on goodwill from friends and well-wishers. Uncensored gathered that the suspended Commissioner of Police (CP) has had his salaries stopped in the wake of his suspension from office. As at the time of going to the press, Mr. Magu has neither been reinstated into the Nigerian Police Force or his suspended salaries restored.

“It is indeed a pity that we allow our brightest and bravest to rot away in the guise of playing politics. You need to see this man now, he’s a shadow of himself. He now survives on goodwill from people. Here is a man who sacrificed everything for his country. The very people who should be languishing behind bars are now gloating over his fate. It is indeed pathetic.

“What is more ludicrous is the fact that snippets from the Justice Ayo Salami Panel appear not to have indicted him. So why stultify a young man’s career in his prime? You have not retired him from the Force, yet you refused to pay him what is due to him. What a country, what a people. How do you expect him to survive? What message are you sending to those who are desirous of equally fighting corruption? You remember similar treatment was meted out to his predecessors, particularly Nuhu Ribadu. I am sorry for this country,” said a source.
