A foremost support group of the All Progressives Congress, Professionals Council, Oyo State chapter has described Tuesday’s explosion in Bodija, Ibadan as tragic and sad.
Oyo State coordinator of the group, Dr. Bamidele Gold stated in a statement he issued on behalf of the group while reacting to the tragic incident which has left many families in Ibadan in mourning, with fatalities and loss of valuable properties.
The group said it stands in prayer and support for the victims during this challenging time.
The group urged Oyo State government to as a matter of urgency set up relevant authorities to conduct a thorough investigation into the immediate and remote causes of the explosion.
According to the statement, setting up of investigating committee is necessary in order to understand the root causes of the incident and to prevent such tragedies in the future.
“In this moment of grief, it is necessary for well meaning individuals to come to the aid of the affected families to salvage their plights and extend a helping hand to those in need. May the Almighty God repose the souls of those that lost their lives in the explosion.” The group prayed.
