The Executive Chairman of Ibadan South East Local Government area, Hon. Emmanuel Oluwole Alawode has been honoured with an award of excellence by the Vigilantee Group of Nigeria (VGN), Oyo State chapter.
The award was bestowed on Hon. Alawode in recognition of his immense contribution to the improvement of security in the council area and the support his administration has been given the group and other security outfits since he came on board.
While presenting the award, the Chairman of the Ibadan/Ibarapa Vigilante Group of Nigeria, Alhaji Abiodun Olabanji explained that the group has been closely monitoring the activities of Hon. Alawode in the area of insecurity and how he has been able to curb menace of some street urchins and area boys that are fond of terrorising the people and his support to all various security outfits to make them perform their duly optimally.
He added that for this reason, the group decided to honour him so as to encourage him to do more.
While responding, Hon. Alawode thanked the group for recognizing his modest achievements in office, adding that security of lives and property of the People is paramount to his administration in line with the vision of the Oyo State Governor, Engr Seyi Makinde who is poised to ensure that every citizen is able to sleep with his/her two eyes closed and do their businesses without any form of molestation by anybody.
He assured the group that the award would spur him to do more for the people in his local government.
