In preparation for the re-election of the Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde for a second term in office, the Director-General for GSM Re-Elect Campaign Council for Ibadan South East Local Government, Hon. Abdullah Abdulrazaq (Omo Sheu) yesterday inaugurated the Campaign Team with a charge to members to put the interest of the party first as they take the campaign to their communities, wards and units ahead of the 2023 general elections.
In a release issued by the Publicity Secretary of the Committee, Hon. Rasheed Akinlayo Gbadamosi at the end of the official inauguration which was held in the office of the Executive Chairman of the council, Hon. Abdullahi Abdulrazaq who at present is representng the Ibadan South East Constituency I in the Oyo State House of Assembly, encouraged members to resolve all internal wrangling within the party and massively mobilize towards the victory of Engr Makinde and all other PDP Candidates for election.
Hon Abdullah Abdul Razak said members of the team were selected based on the template given by Governor Seyi Makinde and their commitments to supporting his government and PDP in the state.
According to him, “I must categorically stated that the achievements of our Governor have already spoken a lot and have made our work easier in the state because the good people of Oyo State are already yearning for the continuity of good governance of our Governor” he said.
While speaking at the event, the Executive Chairman of Ibadan South East Local Government, Hon. Pastor Oluwole Alawode hailed the Governor for his all round developmental programmes in the last three and half years in office and equally thanked him for the privilege he gave to the members to be partakers of the project which, according to him, has already be accomplished by God.
In their remarks, a chieftain of party, Hon Kunmi Adesina, the party Chairman, Engr. Suleiman Adesina and the Special Adviser to the Governor for Ibadan South East/Ibadan North East Affairs, Hon. Yaya Akinbile urged the Director-General to ensure that unity is maintained among members of the party.
They appealed to members of the council to be determined, work hard and not allow anything that would divert their primary aims in delivering the Local Government for the Governor come 2023.
In his submission, the Youth Coordinator for GSM Re-Elect Campaign Council for Ibadan South East, Hon Ambassador Olumide Ayodeji promised that the team would work in unity for the actualisation of GSM Re-Election.
Others present at the inauguration of the campaign team were the representatives of Councillors, Hon. Ariyibi Sulaiman, Supervisory Councillors, Hon. Adeleke Folagbade, Special Advisers, Hon. Iyiola Mutairu, physically challenged, Master Adebisi Akeem, representative of non-indigene – Mr Amos Elkana, Women Coordinator GSM Re-Elect – Hon. Mrs Fidelia Onocho Ward Chairmen, Party Local Youth Leader Aare Ajibi Kazeem and the Women Leader – Mrs Kemi Gbolagade.
