Grassroots Football: Team Ikorodu Wins Eko Football/FCAAN U-15 Tournament

The Soccer Temple, Agege Stadium, came alive Monday night as Team Ikorodu emerged champions of the U-15 Eko Football/FCAAN tournament defeating Team Badagry 4-1 on penalties after both sides couldn`t find the back of the net during regulation time.

The 4-day football tournament which also had Youth Coaches Training Programme organised by the Football Coaches Association of Africa Nations (FCAAN) led by Coach Henry Abiodunz witnessed Team Ikorodu goalkeeper Azeez Fatai stopping two of the Team Badagry’s spot-kicks.

Barrister Seyi Akinwunmi, the 1st Vice-President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) and the Chairman, Youth Development Committee of the NFF was full of joy at witnessing players exhibit quality, skills and talents all through the tournament.

The scintillating final watched by top football personalities and grassroots football enthusiasts in the state including LSFA Chairman, Barr Seyi Akinwunmi; Mr Lanre Said, Board Member, Lagos State Sports Commission; Mr Mojeed Adegbindin; Board Member LSFA; Mr Dotun Coker; Board Member LSFA; Coach Haruna Ilerika, U-15 National Team Coach and Chairmen of Ikeja, Badagry, Lagos Divisional FA’s.
