Pega and Friends Foundation, Wednesday, held several programmes including Spelling Bee competition, quizzes, choreography, music and dance performances, motivational talks, comedy, jokes, photography session, etc., for children as part of activities marking this year Children’s Day celebration.
Speaking at the event, the founder of the foundation, Prince Ekunola Gbenga Abraham (PEGA), was represented by the Board Secretary of the foundation, Engr. Haruna Ahmed stated that the annual event is in line with organisation”s mandate to promote, protect and preserve the rights and welfare of children in Nigeria.
A statement made available to Rulers’ World, quote the founder as saying, “We celebrate the wonderful children of our great nation every year through this event because we know that they are indeed the leaders of tomorrow and they are the future of this country. We believe that what we invest in them today would come around to transform us and this is why our foundation (Pega and friends) is passionate about the development of children and the protection of their rights”.
The statement further note that this year’s edition of the Children’s Day event will forever be remembered by participants who were thrilled with several programmes including the music and dancing section and activities (Spelling Bee Competition, Quizzes, etc.), choreography, music & dance performances, motivational talks, comedy & jokes, photography session and so on.
Some of the schools that attended the event include those from Schools 1, 2, and 3 of Ibadan Municipal Grammar Basic Primary School (I.M.G); Moor Plantation, Apata-Ibadan.
In appreciation to Pega and friends foundation for organising the fun-packed event, Mr. Shola Akande, on behalf of the schools, commended the foundation for its show of affection and love to the children, stating that the children would forever remember this wonderful experience.
On his part, Prince Ekunola appreciated members of the foundation for their support in the successful execution of the event.
According to him, “without your support, prayers, and encouragement, this programme may not be possible, I sincerely appreciate you all,” Ekunola said.
Prince Ekunola also used the opportunity to call on corporate bodies to support the annual event as a way of showing their love for children as well as in the continuation of their social development activities.
Pega and Friends Foundation is a non-profit organisation founded by Prince Ekunola Gbenga Abraham, a Nigerian from Ogun State.
The foundation has a reputation for bringing together great people of like mind with the aim of channeling all available resources to help less privileged persons in society.
