Ex-Gov Ajimobi’s Only Son, Idris, Declares Intention to Contest For HoA Seat

Idris Abolaji Abiola-Ajimobi the only son of the former Governor of Oyo State, late Isiaq Abiola Ajimobi, today declared his intention to run for the seat in the state House of Assembly to represent the Ibadan South West Constituency II under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Idris Ajimobi, a Chartered Accountant of repute, an Administrator, grassroot mobilizer and compassionate indigene of Ibadan made his intention known while meeting with the party leaders in his Constituency at the ALGON house, Ring-Road Ibadan.

Idris’ father, late Senator Abiola Ajimobi, it would be recalled was the only two term Governor that has ever served in the history of Oyo State politics. He served between 2011 to 2019.

According to Idris, “today is a very historical day for me, my family and the people of Ibadan Southwest Constituency II. It has always been my childhood dream to serve humanity, a dreamt come to reality today as am presenting myself to serve the good people of my constituency, Ibadan South West in particular, people of Ibadan and entire citizenry in the State. To God be the glory for the opportunity avails me to achieve this dream.

I have come before you as your son, to plead for your support and prayers as I cannot do this alone. I know a lot of us here know my father and the unflinching legacy he left behind (May his soul rest in perfect peace), and the legacies of his father who served before him i.e (my grand-father, Alhaji Ganiu Ajimobi) who also represented the good people of Ibadan South West Constituency II during Chief Awolowo regime. We shouldn’t let this legacy die and I’ll like to build on these enduring legacies while charting a course of my own to unite our people, bring the dividends of democracy closer and to the merit of our people.

On this note, I announce today that I’ll be throwing my heart in the ring to contest for the membership of the Oyo State House of Assembly (Ibadan South west II Constituency) as your representative. I put my trust in God, and have confidence that with your support and the grace of the Almighty Allah, we shall be victorious.

Together we can!” Idris concluded.
