The Deputy National Chairman (South) of the Peoples Democratic Party, Ambassador Taofeek Arapaja has congratulated Muslims all over the world on the celebration of Eid-el-Fitr, which signifies the completion of the Holy month of Ramadan, urging them to use the festive period to pray towards the entrenchment of good governance in the country.
Ambassador Arapaja in a statement issued but made available to journalists through his Personal Assistant, Bamitale Ibrahim said “The Holy month of Ramadan has offered our nation the divine opportunity for serious introspection especially on issues of the fear of God, integrity, accountability and virtuous existence ”.
Ambassador Arapaja further enjoined the Nigerian citizens to continue to reflect on the essence of Ramadan and use the occasion to reawaken the virtues of “selflessness, honesty, self-restrain, forgiveness, love and compassion for one another without regards to ethnic, religious or political considerations as this is the only way to achieve the much-desired political stability and economic viability of the nation”.
He added that in-spite of numerous challenges facing nigerians in this trying times, he is optimistic that with fervent prayers to God and determination of the citizens, the country will triumph, and we will have a better country that everyone will be proud of.
While wishing Nigerians a happy Eid-il-Fitr celebration, the PDP Deputy National Chairman further urged Muslim faithfuls to use the occasion of the Eid-el-Fitr to strengthen the bond of unity, forgiveness love and care for one another.
