A disappointed Katsina State native who named his daughter after President Muhammadu Buhari during the euphoria of the 2015 election that brought him into power has renamed his daughter.

Yahuza Ibrahim Niga, a native of Jibia Local Government Area in Buhari’s home state said he is disappointed with Buhari over his failure as President thus has changed his five-year-old daughter’s name from Buhariyya to Kausar”.

During the ‘name-changing ceremony’ held on Friday, 23 July 2021, Ibrahim said that during the All Progressives Congress (APC) election campaign in 2015, he had promised to name his child after Buhari because he believed that the President is an honest man.

His wife, who was pregnant then eventually gave birth to a baby girl and he named her “Buhariyya” in honour of the President.

According to Ibrahim, he decided to change his daughter’s name to “Kausar” because President Buhari and the ruling APC, failed to fulfil the promises they made when they were seeking votes. “Kausar” is said to mean success.
