Derek Chauvin found guilty of killing George Floyd

Derek Chauvin has been found guilty of murder in the death of George Floyd.

The court ruled that Chauvin has been found guilty of 2nd-degree and 3rd degree murder, as well as 2nd-degree manslaughter.

Following the ruling, Chauvin was handcuffed and is being taken into custody.

Supporters of George Floyd were reportedly celebrating the ruling.

In 2019, Chauvin, a police officer with the Minneapolis police department, was seen in a viral video on the internet, kneeling on the neck of Blackman, George Floyd, who later died.

In the video, Floyd was repeatedly saying “I can’t breathe”, but the police officer ignored his cry.

The death of Floyd was witnessed with huge protests across the US.
