David Adeleke (Davido) and Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu (Burna Boy) are contemporaries in the Nigeria music industry. However, that may be all there is, as it is an open secret that there is no love lost between the duo.
In one of their recent beefs, the two music giants reportedly “nearly exchange blows” at a night club last December in far away Ghana. Video of the tiff promptly went viral on social media.
Meanwhile, few months down the line, Burna Boy “showed class” as he won Grammy’s ‘Best Global Music Album’ category at the 2021 edition of the annual event. His compatriot, Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun (Wizkid) also won a joint award with Beyonce’ and Blue Ivy for the “Best Music Video” for the Brown Skin Girls Expectedly, congratulatory messages and encomium started pouring in, even from the number one citizen of the country, Muh

Not a few fan of the twain waited with bated breath, wanting to know the next move from either side.
It was therefore somewhat relieving when Davido, perhaps kowtowing to pressure, tweeted what may be describe as a cryptic congratulatory message, where he neither mentioned Burna Boy and/or Wizkid, nor tagged either of the award winners. The tweet elicited over thirty-five thousand reactions with some dissing the Osun State born musician.
I hope no one is jealous here. Suffice to say however that success is the prize of hard work, and has nothing to do with flaunting wealth on music videos and social media. I am not sure there is award for such yet.
