Collation of Results continue today as Makinde Leads Folarin, Adelabu with Wide Margin

The final collation of results from the yesterday’s gubernatorial election held in Oyo State has been postponed till today, Sunday, March 19.

The State INEC Public Relations Officers, Awolowo who confirmed the development to newsmen at INEC office in Ibadan, however did not give reason for the shift.

The collation is expected to start at 9am.

Meanwhile from the results so far across the 33 local government areas of Oyo State, the incumbent Governor of the state, Engr. Seyi Abiodun Makinde was leading his closest rival, Senator Teslim Folarin of the All Progressives Congress (APC) with Wide margin.

Governor Seyi Makinde not only won his polling unit he also defeated Folarin, Adelabu of Accord in their respective polling units.

Makinde voted at Ward 11, Unit 01, Abayomi Iwo-Road in Ibadan North East Local Council.

He has 174 votes while the All Progressives Congress (APC) scored 28, Accord Party scored 5, Labour Party scored 3 votes.

Four votes were voided.

For the House Of Assembly poll, the PDP scored 160 votes, APC scored 30, Accord 9 and the Labour Party (LP), scored 5 votes.

It was also learnt that out of the 32 state House of Assembly seats, the ruling PDP is maintaining comfortable lead having won about 28 seats leaving the remaining four for the APC.
