The Chief of Army Staff, Lt General Ibrahim Attahiru has died in a plane crash on Friday, while on an official trip to Kaduna State in a military plane.
The incident was said to have occurred at about 6 pm while it was raining heavily.
The plane was said to have crash-landed on the runway, with the ten people on board feared dead.
The training aircraft crashed at the Kaduna international airport. The ill-fated aircraft was said to have crashed at the airport’s runway.
Meanwhile, the Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Edward Gabkwet confirmed the tragic incident in a statement.
“An air crash involving a @NigAirForce aircraft occurred this evening near the Kaduna International Airport. The immediate cause of the crash is still being ascertained,” he said.
