Auxiliary led thugs to attack us, victims of Iwo Road mayhem alleges

Auxiliary led Iwo road mayhem

Following Wednesday’s mayhem at Iwo Road, Ibadan, involving members of the Park Management Systems (P.M.S) in Oyo State, phone sellers, who fell victims of the incident, have insisted that the Chairman of the disciplinary committee appointed by the state government to manage parks in the state, Alhaji Mukaila Lamidi (a.k.a. Auxiliary) led his boys to launch the attack on them.

The incident led to the death of one Rahmon Azeez, who was a child of the owner of the shopping complex allegedly invaded by the Mukaila Lamidi’s boys yesterday.

Some phone sellers who spoke to Rulers’ World on condition of anonymity during the protest to Governor’s office on Wednesday stated that Mukaila Lamidi came with his boys. “He wore a yellow T-shirt and ordered his boys to enter our complex where we were selling mobile phones. They looted phones that we were selling running to several millions of naira. Apart from that, many others also sustained various degrees of injuries.

Late Rahmon Azeez’s body

“The funniest part of the incident was that the security men in Army and police uniforms accompanied him. It happened in their presence without doing anything. We were helpless and that was why we protested to the Governor’s office with the corpse of the person that was killed.

“Another thing that surprised us here is that when we got here (Governor’s office), Governor Seyi Makinde was in the office. But now we learnt he has left office through the other gate at fire service station without listening to us. We were here to let him know that Auxiliary was present at the scene of the incident. He actually directed his boys to launch the attack on us and the result of it is the corpse of the person that was killed that we brought here. Unfortunately he has left without attending to us. This is very sad indeed.”

The corpse brought to the Governor’s office was later taken to the Adeoyo State Hospital mortuary at Ring Road, Ibadan in the Oyo State government ambulance.

Rulers’ World learnt that apart from mobile phones allegedly looted by the hoodlums, other valuable items were also destroyed by the rampaging miscreants during the attack.

Late Rahmon Azeez was a graduate of Lead City University, Ibadan, and it was learnt that he just secured visa to travel out of the country before his unfortunate death.
