As the Year 2022 Winds Down…

As the year 2022 winds down to its close, we have reason as Nigerians to think back upon the year it was. We cannot but be thankful to God Almighty, the Maker of the Heavens and the Earth for the opportunity of being alive to witness the celebration of this year Christmas and, in anticipation of the beginning of the year 2023. To Him alone is due all praises.

This year’s ending has been very interesting with mixed blessings for many Nigerians because of the present situation which cannot be described as encouraging. However, we have every cause to be grateful for being alive with members of our family.

As we all know that preparations are in top gear towards the conduct of the 2023 general elections which has been fixed for Saturday 25th February and Saturday 11th March, 2023, respectively. The onus is therefore on us as electorates to make a decision on whom to choose among the array of political candidates that are running for various elective positions. We must remember, while making our decisions come 2023, where we were coming from, where we are and where we want to see our dear country, Nigeria in the next four years.

We must not be carried away by the glitz and glamour of the manifestoes being presented by these politicians bearing in mind that there is nothing new in what they are saying that has not been said in the past but how much of those promises have been fulfilled?

It is our prayer at Rulers’ World News Media that God Almighty will guide us right in making the best decision in our quest to choose a new set of leaders that will pilot the affairs of our country, States and National Assembly candidates.

There is something about birthdays that elicits joy, happiness and excitement. For the wise, it is that moment you take a stock of your life to reflect on the journey so far, ponder and review strategies on how to make things better. Doing this was what the Holy book describes as the ‘path of wisdom’, which we can only tread constantly by seeking the face of the Almighty.

Some lives are specially packaged for exceptional feats that are worth more than the usual annual rituals of ‘marking’. Celebrating such lives attracts ‘whisppers’ from beyond the immediate community of the celebrant.

Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State belongs to the coterie of men whose lives speak so much of God’s kindness that the birthday simply can’t go unnoticed. The Governor is 55 years this 25th day of December, 2022. But the fullness of that stretch always attracts attention. This edition captures a few of Governor Makindes’ activities in his three and half year’s tenure as the Governor.

We once again wish all our numerous readers and admirers Merry Christmas and the most rewarding year 2023.

Long live the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
