Allen Praises MFM’s Resilience In Stalemate At Shooting Stars

Mountain of Fire and Miracles Football Club (MFM FC) head coach Festus Allen heaped encomiums on his players following a 1-1 draw against southwest rivals Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) on Sunday.

Chidera Ezeh had given 3SC a 43rd-minute lead, and the Oluyole Warriors looked set to complete a season double over MFM FC until David Nduka set up Micah Ojodomo for a last gasp equalizer that silenced the Lekan Salami Stadium.

Allen, a former 3SC head coach, praised the mentality of the Olukoya Boys who avoided defeat in consecutive matches for the first time since March.

“We never give up. I kept urging the boys to keep pushing even after the added three minutes and I am glad they fought till the last minute,” Allen said.

“We didn’t play like we did against Kano Pillars. We kept losing the ball easily. So I had to bring on my two experienced players and I am happy they spread the confidence amongst the team and we got a deserving point,” he concluded.

Allen has now managed MFM FC in two games, avoiding defeat in both games.
