A 26-year-old Nigerian, Emmanuel Ogabi, has been confirmed dead by police in the United Kingdom after he was stabbed on Wednesday, October 20, 2021, and left alone until he was found on Thursday morning.
Ogabi was stabbed during an attack by a group of yet-to-be-identified men at about 11.40 pm and left to die on Sandy Hill Road in Woolwich, a district in Southeast London within the Royal Borough of Greenwich.
But UK Police said someone in the neighbourhood reported a collapse in the street to police at about 7.48 am on Thursday. He was declared Ogabi dead at the scene.
The police are yet to make an arrest.
The police are, however, calling on residents to check and provide doorbell or dashcam footage that captured the Wednesday attack.
Investigation lead, Detective Chief Inspector Richard Leonard, from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command: “We are specifically appealing for anyone who was in Burridge Place or Sandy Hill Road from 11.40 pm to 11.45 pm on Wednesday, 20 October.
“Analysis of CCTV footage shows Emmanuel was surrounded by a group of males and we would like to identify who they are.
“Similarly, please check any doorbell or dashcam footage in case you have captured something that could prove useful for our investigation. No piece of information is too small.”
