A group within the People’s Democratic Party in Ibadan South East Local Government, The Integrity Group has urged the Oyo State Governor Engr Seyi Makinde,The Deputy National Chairman PDP (South) Ambassador Taofeek Arapaja and other PDP leaders in the state to ensure that the internal democracy is embraced by allowing candidates to emerge through primary elections in Ibadan South East local government and the state as a whole

This was made known in a press statement issued and signed by the Coordinator of the Integrity Group, Mr Afeez Adebisi and made available to Rulers’ World.

The Group in the statement said allowing all aspirants to participate in the primary elections for candidates to emerge will not only promote internal democracy but will also further strengthen the party in Ibadan South East Local Government ahead of the 2023 general elections.

The Group alleged that the three lawmakers that are currently representing the local government at both State and federal level especially Hon Abass Adigun Agboworin and Hon Segun Popoola have no regards whatsoever for the ward executives and members of the party in the local government.

“We are appealing to Governor Seyi Makinde and other stakeholders in the PDP to allow each aspirant to test their popularity during the primary elections instead of relying on the free forms that the Governor announced that he has already bought and would be given to whoever he wish in the interest of peace and progress of our party in the local government.

While we, the Integrity Group of PDP in Ibadan South East Local Government is looking forward for a successful Primary Elections where members and stakeholders of the party will elect the standard bearers who will represent the PDP in the 2023 general elections, we are also pledging our unflinching support to Governor Seyi Makinde led administration in his quest to take the State to greater heights.” The statement concluded.
